Rehabilitation of Wallace Tower

Fitchburg, MA

BH+A is working with the Fitchburg Housing Authority to modernize Wallace Tower, a 14-story, 130-unit apartment building for elderly and disabled residents built in Fitchburg in 1973. While this project at Wallace Tower is primarily a modernization of an aging tower with outdated MEP systems, ventilation, plumbing fixtures, interior finishes, exterior windows and code updates,  BH+A is also improving the entry vestibule and lobby, as well as designing a much needed new first floor community room addition. We have recently completed Phases 1 & 2, which included external stabilization, envelope repair, window replacement, and systems upgrades. We are currently working on internal modernizations including updates of kitchens, bathrooms, lobby spaces, and community gathering rooms.

This project is being constructed with funding and support of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities.
